Every time I open word, I
change the font from 10pt to 12pt because I hate it so small, and have
no idea how to fix it permanently. Theryn helped,
and it's fixed now. Thanks!

I married my husband after
I’d known him only 6 months. This year we will celebrate our 14th
anniversary. This list was created in 2002,
in March.
-
I have a really hard time
expressing deep, inner thoughts vocally, but can write them and be
understood. At least, most of the time.
-
I own more Harrison Ford
pictures than I do actual photographs. (I lost all my personal
photographs but a few in a tragic move, but had the HF folder with me at
all times.) Actually, I realized this isn't that
true, and we did just buy a camera, so it'll be less true as time
marches on.
-
I still have my childhood
doll, Betty Beans, in the drawer next to my bed.
-
I started smoking when I was
10, and quit when I was 35. (I’m 36.)
-
I don’t like nick-knacks, but
have a collection of small plastic figurines and stuffed ‘Beanie Baby’
animals.
-
I have roughly 7 lilac trees.
It’s my favorite smell in the whole world.
-
My eyes and my hair are just
about the same color. (A tawny red-gold color.)
-
I gave up my soap operas for
Lent, and I’m not Catholic. It just happened to be that week, and I
think I’m funny. But I haven’t watched them since.
About one week after I posted this, I went back to watching "Days of Our
Lives"...I'm a sucker for Jack, what can I say.
-
2 months after a friend
announced she was pregnant, I found out I was. 4 months after we had
those children, another friend announced she was pregnant. A week later,
I knew I was going to have my second kid. I told my friends they weren’t
allowed to get pregnant any more.
-
I haven’t left my state in
easily 5 years, (probably more) and haven’t left my immediate city area
(Portland, Or. Has a lot of suburbs, which I consider part of Portland,
really, since its all one big sprawl separated by green signs, tunnels,
or bridges.) since last year.
-
I have never set foot inside
any Wal-Mart.
-
I have more Harlequins than
any other type or kind of novel.
-
I had scarlet fever for a
week when I was 9.
-
When I was 18, I wrote a
novel from start to finish in 4 days. My brother nagged me over my
shoulder the entire time. I lost it during various moves, wet garages,
and stupidity.
-
My husband is 9 years older
than I am. We counted, he's only 8 years older. He
was a tad miffed I thought he was turning 45. LOL
-
I have a passion for the
family genealogy. My Aunt compiled a book, but I was not given a copy. My
father gave me a copy he copied. :)
-
I can not stand to do the
dishes.
-
When I was in high school, we
raced snakes as a fund-raiser. Our team was "The Orange Juice Gang", we
named the snake "Squeeze" and the one they handed us was a python. He
lost the race, but we were all on a local TV show.
-
I don’t like the Tolkien
novels. You know who you are. I also haven’t seen the movie.
Okay, well, I have seen both movies so far and enjoy it immensely. I
might even try to read the books. Skipping "The Hobbit" which
I think snarks.
-
I saw "The Empire Strikes
Back" and "Return of the Jedi" on opening day, having won an ‘advance’
ticket off the radio for the first, and skipped school for the second. I
didn’t see "Star Wars" until 2 years after it had been released.
-
I’m truthful to a fault, and
will answer direct questions directly and without evasion or
embarrassment. However, I will omit parts of the
truth off if I don't want to share, don't want to fight, and can avoid
it.
-
My favorite books are the
"Rose of the Prophet" series by Weis & Hickman. I read them about every
other year.
-
I like to listen and watch
operas. (Not as in "soap", just "opera". Think "Madame Butterfly" here.)
-
I read "Gone with the Wind"
when I was 15, during a summer reading contest. I didn’t read any other
books because GWTW was too big for me. It was printed in columns, too,
which didn’t help.
-
The very first thing I ever
said to my husband was, "You can’t sleep with me to get to the top." He
was a new employee on a tour, and I was being promoted to manager just
then. That’s right. I was his boss.
-
I maintain contact and
friendships with three people from JR. High. (8th grade, to
be specific)
-
I don’t have a car, or a
license to drive.
-
I can’t remember anything
much of my life before the age of 13. Including a trip to Disneyland
when I was 10. (Although I do remember "It’s a Small World")
-
My favorite movie is
"Breakfast at Tiffany’s". My 2nd is "Empire Strikes Back".
However, "Moulin Rouge" is climbing the charts.
-
Cantaloupe is the work of the
devil, but I love watermelon.
-
I’ve had the same dial-up ISP
(basically) since 1994 or 1995.
-
I rarely wear jewelry, and
when I do, it’s usually a necklace. I don’t have pierced ears (anymore),
and carry my wedding band in my purse.
-
At 5’4", I’m still the
tallest woman on my mother’s side of the family.
-
I watch an average of 4
rented movies every week.
-
Once while baby-sitting, I
made donuts from scratch (okay, I punched holes in Pillsbury biscuit
dough). I dropped the donuts into the oil and walked away to watch a
movie. THREE hours later I saw flames shooting up from the pan. I got
the fire out JUST as the fire alarm went off. The kids never woke up,
the parents never said a word, and I never made donuts again.
-
If I know of a shortcut, I
take it. If I know a cheat, I’ll challenge myself to work without it.
-
I can key in 10,000 numbers a
minute. I type at about 75.
-
I loathe confrontations and
will either find a way to see other guy’s point of view or make a
problem my fault in order to avoid them.
-
I haven’t had cable since
1993.
-
I got my license to drive
when I was 24, after 3 failed attempts on my own and a bunch of Sears
driving lessons. It just never seemed important.
-
My favorite music is the
Doors.
-
The first drink I could make
was a rum and coke, and I knew that by age 8.
-
I know the Western and
Chinese astrological signs of myself, my husband, both my kids, my dog,
my 3 closest friends and their children, and can recite them. I also
know (but haven’t memorized) the signs of most of the Snarkers.
-
I wanted to be an actor, but
couldn’t stand being in front of people.
-
I’m an abuse survivor, and
don’t mind answering questions or talking about it. I still see and
speak to my father, and neither of my kids knows a thing about it.
-
My father-in-law looks
EXACTLY like that snowman in a vest from "Rudolph, the Red-Nosed
Reindeer" the classic Christmas movie. (Burl Ives)
And my father looks and sounds kind of like Mr. Rogers (PBS).
-
I can’t give tours of
Portland. I don’t know where anything is.
-
My favorite color is orange.
But I can't wear it, because I have red hair.
